
While I agree that more visible examples of abject penury are a common sight in India; there is something that makes me post this picture under Photofriday’s theme for this week – Poverty. As I took their picture, I felt as if the two gentlemen had forgotten to smile. It may just be the fact that theirs is a vocation where they hardly come across a photographer telling them to pose for him. Though I am still inclined to believe, that such gravity is a shadow cast on a person’s physiognomy by a prolonged privation.
Alternative title – when Laurel and Hardy forgot to smile.
