As I prepared to enter the Bhagandeshwara Temple near Talacauvery at Coorg, I cast a glance at the wooden roof which covered the narrow entrance gallery that led us into the main temple courtyard. The play of light with the grain of wood was such, that every nook and cranny of the roof appeared to have been illuminated equally.
